Job Title: Project Officer
YEfL is seeking the services of a qualified person for the position of Project Officer. The staff member will be responsible for providing technical advisory support within our strategic areas and perform managerial roles in collaboration with the management team of YEfL.
The Project Officer is responsible for youth programme development and support activity implementation at the district level through the Youth Centres.
The Project Officer will support in all YEFL’s projects and programmes.
The major tasks include:
Support the team in fundraising: Key requirements in this position.
Close cooperation with young persons and the Youth centres, advising and supporting implementation of activities at the Youth Centres, including capacity building of and support to the centres
Collect relevant issues and data from field level to serve as evidence for advocacy at regional/national/international level
Cooperate closely with advocacy and communication teams on development and implementation of advocacy strategies and production of communication materials
Conduct routine programme monitoring & evaluation and participate in joint monitoring & evaluation with other partners
Prepare technical reports relating to project activities and programmes
Hold engagement meetings with National Youth Authority and other stakeholders
Contribute to community-based activities that are youth related
Networking with funding organisations and relevant stakeholders for programme strengthening and sustainability
Support the organisation review and develop a new fundraising strategy.
A first degree in Development Studies or Social Sciences, plus at least 5-years’ experience in community development work; or a Master’s Degree in Development Studies or any relevant Social Sciences, or related field plus 2 years’ relevant experience in community development work
Should have proven experience in Youth programming, policy analysis, advocacy, organizational capacity building, project design and proposal development, strategic communication, monitoring & evaluation, documentation & reporting.
Ability to speak fluently in English and one or more languages spoken in Northern Region
